Recovering calendar in outlook

Does anyone know what happens with the whole calendar when it gets deleted?
I accidentally deleted the while calendar and I don't know how to get it back.
I looked for outlook.pst, but I don't have that file, I have a bunch of other files in the Outlook directory. Is outlook.pst hidden somehow? I did set it to show hidden files and folders. I am helpless and don't know what to try anymore.
Please help. I have to get the calendar back. It was my boss' and he is pissed.

Was the calendar stored locally or on a server? If it was stored on an Exchange server then it can be recovered from the latest backup.

If it was stored on the local machine and the OS is Win XP then try a System Restore to before you deleted the files: Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore

This procedure MIGHT bring back the calendar. If not there is a data recovery app:

I know Stellar's HDD data recovery app is quite good but know nothing of this one, but if it's REALLY important it might be worth a shot.

Are there any other copies of the calendar, like on his mobile phone, PDA etc.?

The deleted calendar is stored in the .pst file as long as it's not "compacted". There is a workaround using a hex editor on the .pst file to intentionally corrupt the .pst and then running scan.pst to recover everything in the .pst file, but it's complicated and not guaranteed.

Whatever you do, backup your .pst file first!
