recovering an overwritten file???

I have a file that I adjusted, I saved it under the same name. STUPID
Now I need to recover the original file, is there a way????
woring NT4, SP5, NTFS [sig][/sig]
 
Hey.
Oops! Search your PC/server for .bak files (or the like) but I think chances are slim. I vaguely remember hearing something about a third party util called something like DocTrack, it supposedly monitors files and records changes in some kind of log file. But it needs to be running first.
Sorry to be so vague but I never actually used it myself.
