Recovering a Deleted Message?

I have been immersed in a Siemens swithc for years, but a new office of ours just had an Avaya IP system installed last fall so I am trying to navigate my way around with no official training.

Today, one of our supervisors deleted an important voicemail message from our Audix system. Is there any way to undelete the message? My first reaction is "no", but maybe there is a trick I just haven't yet discovered.

Thanks for any help!

If this is an IP Office with Voicemail Pro you can recover the .wav file from the hard drive on the server at:

x:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Accounts

How long does it hold onto the deleted messages for. I have noticed they stay there but never looked into how ling they stay. Does anyone know.

Launch the Voicemail Pro application and press F9
Select the Housekeeping tab

The options are listed there. Setting a "0" will specify that you never want messages deleted.

Unfortunately, on our Intuity we are just using Audix and not Voicemail Pro. Is there any hope for recovering through Audix?

This can be better answered for you in the Avaya Definity forums
It can be recovered but it's not something you would be able to do yourself. Hopefully you backup your Audix everyday. What you need to do is send a copy of the backup from that day it was deleted to Avaya and their engineers can recover the deleted message. Be warned though, this process is NOT cheap.
