Hello,

I'm trying to restore a directory and I'm getting a "cannot read record" error. This is what I see on nsrwatch:

Tue 18:21:04 media info: can not read record 470998 of file 61 on LTO Ultrium-3 tape 000284

/dev/nst0 (J) LTO Ultrium-3 000284 reading, moving forward 470997 record(s)

It can't get pass record 470997. Is there a way to skip this record or ignore read errors?

I'm running NetWorker 7.2.2 on RHEL3, restoring from command line, file by file. I get the same error when restoring by saveset.

Sure - it does not matter whether you recover a file or a save set. If the error is there, it will not change.

With scanner you can actually go to a physical position and start from there. However, the question is whether NetWorker can 'reset the stream'. This is usually done at the beginning of each NEW save set. To the best of my knowledge, you can not start in the middle - not with NW tools.

Hope you have clones.
