Hi, my laptop recently died but I have salvaged the HDD and hooked it up to my desktop PC via an external casing connected to USB (acting as another HDD). Problem is that now need to recover the inbox and contacts that were part of the Express set up onthe Laptop. I am assuming this is possible But can someone walk me thru what i need to do?

I actually had two identities set up (wife and personal). Can I distinguish between these and copy them over easily?

Or is it possibe to simply launch the Express application on the old HDD and keep using it as per normal?

many thanks, Darren

If you were using outlook the files should be .pst files and if you set the computer to view hidden system files a search should find them.

The answer is "42"

Since you were using OE then you need to find the .dbx files. They should be in each user's documents and settings profile and you'll need to show both hidden system files and hidden files and folders.

Sorry, I'm at work and we don't use OE so I can't tell you exactly where in the profile to look.

Cheers.
