Recover email from knackered disk

can you recover emails that have not been saved or stored anywhere other than in outlook express. cant boot the disk to open outlook to export the mail etc... please help if you can

It the e-mail was all being downloaded to OE there is no other place the mail will be but on the hard drive.

So, i can assume that once it is in OE but not saved or exported, its a guessing game as to where it is stored as a file .... what ever the file extension may be. I know they are not stored as an .eml whilst still in OE ...
