Hi all
Can anyone suggest me a way to configure lost+found so that the deleted files are automatically transferred to that directory.

Thanks and regards
Siva

you could wright a shell a script that would copy files to the lost&found directory. Then aliase the script to rm

So when someone used the rm command it would execute yuor script and not the actual "rm" command

Hi
Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that I usually use \rm and so the original rm is used. I've aliases rm as rm -i but since I used \rm all the files got removed. Anyhow thanks for your suggestion.

hi,

the unix faq does suggest that there is a way to find your files after the inode is deleted.. it also says that u need a good expert to do this..

nyway for ur problem rushtosiva, ur blocks on the hdd would have been overwritten by now... so not much can be done... but

i am sure someone has that script around here..
