I recently received a message in my event viewer about a bad block the message follows:
"The device, \Device\Harddisk0\Partition2, has a bad block"

I noticed all of the files in a particular folder in the partition 2 of harddisk0 were corrupt, is there a way to retrieve that data or is it lost forever? Should I replace the hard drive before I get more bad blocks?

Thanks Leon

Definitely replace HD at once. Bad blocks don't go away (fix themselves) they usually multiply.

There are companies which do data recovery, but they ain't cheap.

Time flies when you don't know what you're doing...
