I made a database in Access 2003 (Operating System, Windows XP Professional Edition). I split the database into front and back end, copied back end to the server and installed front end on client machines. Front end was connected to backend using Linked Table Manager.

Application worked successfully on clients having Windows XP installed. But users, who have Windows 2000 installed on their computers, got the following error message, while opening the database:

“This Recordset is not updateable”

I copied msjet35.dll from the machine having Windows XP to the machine having Windows 2000 but that did not work.

Access 2003 is installed on all client machines

Issue resolved.

The Network Administrator modified security settings of the folder on server machine, in which backend file was present. He added users of this database in Security and this solved the issue.
