Hi,

I have got a problem and im not sure what is causing it,
I have a table that should have 3036 records in it, and a backup from last night does have it, todays has 750 or so records, loads missing??

The other tables linked to this table still have all the records im guessing its corrupt, but not sure, also dont have a clue what to do about it.

can anyone help

i have been checking this out all day, i have got a copy of the backup from last night to test and i noticed that after using 'database utilities > compact and repair' 2 of my tables have gone from 3000 records to 750 records.

Not sure what to do now if my back end needs repair, when a user decides to turn their pc off without turning off Access or the server goes down, will it repair or is it going to be a problem.

After a bit of checking, hopefully it has been fixed for the moment. Not sure how long it will work though.

Everything i made below was with a different name to the existing files.

1. I made a copy of the front end .mdb
2. Exported the back end tables back into the front end .mdb
3. Made a copy of the .mdb with tables.
4. Converted the .mdb with tables to a 2002 version file because it was 2000, (still not sure if my users have version 2002 i will find out).
5. Compacted and repaired the .mdb ( tables no longer gave the error)
6. Split the dbase so tables are in a back end and the .mde is what the users can use.
7. I have also moved the tables back and compacted as a 2000 file and it seems ok
