I'm doing a survey of Access vs Oracle.

I know that access was not written as an enterpirse database. Anyone know how long it takes for it to break down?
Lots of variables here, but Access tends to get pretty doggy after fifteen or so concurrent connections (at least, that was my experience). Access 2 maxed out somewhere around 340 Megabytes, never tried to see with later versions, but I've been told that Office95 and later addressed that issue.
Yes, many variables...

Access is limited to one Gig. However, you can link databases together so the limit is theoretically unlimited. As a practical mater the performance may not be acceptable.

Keep in mind that with Access all processing is done on the desktop - even if the database is on a network file server. Performance can vary from desktop to desktop. With a "real" RDBMS, the processing is done on the server and the results are transmitted across the network.
