hey im trying to record stuff on my TV and get it on my pc so i can edit it. i have a Canon ZR80 that can record to vcr. im just wondering if it can record tv.

When you say it can record to VCR, do you mean that you can output the DV footage direct to VCR via composite/s-video?

If the zr80 has the facility to record from composite/s-video then you could get a scart to composite/s-video adaptor (make sure it is a switchable one, most are designed to only work as a scart input to the VCR/TV) and send the TV station from the VCR to the camcorder for recording. You could then transfer the footage to your PC in the normal way from your camcorder

Thanks, you actually helped me there too, I'd been having a related problem and not really thought about it until answering you. I just discovered my DV camcorder has the analogue socket switchable from out to in so my prob is solved too!! :)

Shame i can't give myself a star...
