Recording to an Audio Group

Hello

So we have an S8700 Avaya phone system where I work

Now I know you can record an announcement via a phone connected to the PBX by using the announcement access code > announcement number etc. when the annnouncement is configured directly to a VAL board ( e.g. 04A04 )

However, I have implemented audio groups here for backup reasons and so have all the announcements in an audio group

Thing is the LOB now want to re record all of their announcements

I know I can sort them out here if the LOB sends me new wav file etc.

BUT my question is, Is there any way to record announcements via announcement access code to an announcement thats configured in an Audio Group ??

In my experience you can not.

What I've done for situations like this is create a range of announcement extensions that they can record to... then using those recordings use Val manager to copy them to the appropriate announcment.

Hi,

You cant use the feature access code to record announcements to audio groups.

you would need to create a single announcement, do the recording then either VAL manager it to the relevent boards or 'enable filexfer' for the the VAL boards in question and do a 'get' from the single announcement board then 'put' it to the others in the audio group.
