Hi Guys,

Mitel 3300 MCD5.0, MBG V7.1.32.0

This customer requires us to record all IP phone Calls (No more that 16 extensions in total) where some of the sets are in the office, other phones are Teleworker users, and another group of phones are on a remote office via VPN.

Is it possible to record all phones if I make them all to register through the MBG and have all the SRC licenses required. Recorder will be a Red Box.

When I say that I will have all phones to register through the MBG I mean that phones across the VPN will point to MBG local IP, and also phones in the office will point to the MBG not to the PBX. MBG is now as Server Only mode.

Thanks a lot, Regards,

Daniel

I am not familiar with the Red Box but I would say that they would be the best point of contact. You need to know how the product will be setup to record. I know that many other call recording software products use mirror ports to capture the call. Some differ on needing specific information like mac, ip or mirroring the specific port.

I would think it would not be a problem for local and VPN connected phones as you can point them to the SRC. Not sure how it would handle teleworker phones as they are pointed to the teleworker IP which might suggest it uses different ports then what the SRC might use. Good question.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

We have installed many systems that have red box recorders. Provided your red box system is set for extension side recording (via SRC)then the easiest thing to do is, any phone (internal or external) put into teleworker mode and point it at the SRC. This way you can keep your stndard DHCP options for sets that don't need to be recorded.
