Recording Remote Desktop Sessions

I work in a large national company that provides IT Support for the company's employees. Is it common for this type of company to have their Remote Desktop Sessions recorded? Or do companies in general do not record their sessions?

And if the Remote Desktop Sessions get recorded how long are they typically stored?
 
Actually sorry... it is not Remote Desktop Connection. It is actually called Teamviewer. But even if the recording is available, do companies typically record their sessions with the employees they are helping?
 
Isn't teamviewer just for support? Any recording will normally just for training purposes. With the number of queries the support desk opens a day, it isn't really worth recording.
 
I suppose the support rep could screen capture the session on their end for documentation purposes, possibly if it's an unusual event/request/fix.

If you're talking about screen recording (i.e. some kind of video of your Remote Desktop or Teamviewer activity) then I very much doubt that any company would do this except in very specific circumstances, such as if they suspected that something illegal was going on. The cost of doing this would be very high for very little benefit.

If you're talking about merely logging your remote access then I'd be surprised if they don't do this, particularly for accessing live servers, external machines or anything sensitive. The cost of this kind of logging is negligible but it can provide valuable audit data. Such logs would probably be kept for a very long time as they take up little space.
