I have a Definity G3si, release 9. I would like to be able to record all calls that come in to our Security office. Virginia state law allows for one party notification so this is legal.

They currently have an older 7406 phone, but I can replace this if needed with a 6408 or Callmaster phone. However, I would prefer to locate the recording equipment at the switch if possible. I'm willing to look at analog recorders or a computer based system.

I guess the ideal system would be computer based, located at the switch, with the ability to record up to a maximum of 8 lines. Any suggestions?

For computer based recording on a smaller scale, Check out Digital USB Call Record Solutions at .
Plugs directly into the Avaya digital line and picks up caller ID info. Cost under $300/station--I'd like to see Nice beat that! They can be manually operated or have the ability to centrally manage up to 20 remotely placed units. I am picking one up soon and will report more on it after I put it through it's paces.

we use a computer based product from creative switching design to record all calls that come through our operators. it records calls to a pc and writes them to optical disks for archiving. works great for finding out what people really said to our operators when they call in with a complaint.

thanks, tim
