I am not sure if I am posting this question on the correct message board, so shoot me down if not!
I was wondering if anyone knows of any auditing software. I need to create a list of IP addresses/identification names/applications installed/operating system/serial numbers etc etc. I was looking for something that could be ran automatically over our network, maybe using Novell login scripts or something. I have about 600 PC's to audit, and am not about to walk round all of them with a pen and paper!

Thanks - Darren

Since it appears you are running Novell, have you tried ZEN Works at all? I haven't gotten to even look at that in a year or so, but thought it could do the same things as SMS does on a Microsoft Network (SMS can do hardware/software inventory pretty well.)

Hope this helps,
Paul Kincaid

we use Bindview (BV Audit) where I work. It does pretty much everything that you listed. It keeps track of user login ID, files, installed software, operating system, the S/N of the BIOS of the cpu, etc. We have it set to run automatically when the user logs in. We have 650+ users in our building and it does a pretty good job. Plus we can tell if user's are installing software on their own. I do believe that sometime in the future we are switching to ZEN though. Hope this helps

We are transitioning to ZENWorks from LANDesk to accomplish what you ask, plus much much more. ZENWorks should do everything you want plus add workstation lockdown, remote administration, some monitoring, and software deployment (no I don't work for Netware). The best part is it is integrated into the NDS tree. Check it out at <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> only thing is to run inventory you need to be running the clients on IP (so you have to have Novell 5x).
