Can I retrieve directly the number of recordset in a query without looping through the entire recordset ?

Why doesn't the .RecordCount work on a query ?

Is there a similar property for a query ?

thanks so much,

marco

There is one more reason .If you are using ADO and if you not set the "cursorlocation" property to "adUseClient" then it will not return the number of records.
Another way to do is using SQL query.
eg. Select count(*) from table_name;
