RECORDCOUNT EXPANDED SECTION OF DAP

Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody could help me. I working on a DAP page that has grouping on it. I would like to get the recordcount of the expanded band so that I can loop through records and add them to an Excel spreadsheet. I have read a lot on this topic but just can't get the uderstanding of the MSODSC object, CurrentSection, HTMLContainer. If I use Category.length I get counts but not for the expanded view. Any assitance would be greatly useful.
