I am working on a report and I want to suppress certain records. My suppression formula works great and leaves me just the records I want, but they are spread out over multiple pages with a few lines on each. It looks like the suppressed records are still occupying the real estate on the page, they just aren't visible.

How do I make suppressed records not take up space?

Rather than suppress, consider eliminating the rows from the data completely by using the record selection formula (Report->Edit Selection Formula->Record), as in:

{table.codevalue} = "Valid"

IF you only want to suppress rows, right click the section, select Format Section and click the X-2 next to the Suppress and place your logic there, as in:

{table.codevalue} <> "Valid"
