I have a business application (inventory, order entry, shipping, invoicing) running with SQL Server 2005 Express. I have experienced occasional loss of 1-10 records in the Shipping area. I know the shipment/invoice was done because I have invoices in hand. A look back shows they were not shipped. Other shipments and invoices occurred after the missing shipments and used the invoice numbers from the lost shipments. The app is setup to only allow and invoice after a shipment is completed. I always assumed that a completed shipment was written in to the database. Does SQL Server maintain "committed" records in the log files? I am wondering if its a timing issue because the problem typically occurs when volumes are higher.

Sorry for the long post. Hope it makes enough sense.
