I am using the Record Locks property on the form to to lock records that are being edited (multiple users). The property is set to Edited Record. This seems to work, but as the Help file says, "A page of records is locked." And "...a page may contain more than one record." Seems the page is defined as 2K.

Is there any way to lock only the record that is being edited?

With Access 97, no. What I've seen some people do, however, is store a number of characters in a field that will insure one record adds up to 2K.

With Access 2000, you can set record level locking by going to Tools/Options/Advanced and checkingh the check box. Tyrone Lumley

Yes, thanks. That is what I tried and it worked (ensuring the 2k record). My problem now is finding a way to visually see if a record is locked. There will be multipul users and they will need to be able to cycle through records to find the next unlocked reocord.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brian
