Every once in awhile i will get the following message
"The Micorsoft Jet Engine Has Stopped the Process because
You and another user are attemping to change the same data at the same time"...Which that is not the case..

This Database is in a multi-user environment. Is there some way to get around this?? Also from time to time a window will pop up "write conflict" asking to save the changes...sometimes the changes get saved and sometimes not...Is there some porperties that I can set in the database to control this???

any advice would be helpful

Thanks in advance

Access by default sets a 2K page lock. If your record is within that amount of data from a record that is being changed, then you will receive that message. Action queries can also generate the message, I believe.

Access 2000 allows row locking. That is, record by record. In any case, you do not want to shut off the locking mechanisim provided by the Jet DB engine.

Search your help or the Knowledge base for optpimistic and pessamistic locking and/or record locking.
