I'm using Access 97 and I need to lock records that are pulled using the frontend, but reside in the shared backend database.

1st - Do I put the record locking on the backend database, frontend database, or on both.

2nd - Which one do I use? Edited Records or All Records. I want to be able to lock all the records that have been pulled via a query, not the whole table, and not just the single record that the user may have active.

The MS Help description, as well as my Access 97 Bible are very vague on this subject.

Thanks in advance-
Carie
