Record Locking and MDB?

My Recollection is record locking as an option vs. Page locking was new in Access 2007.

My question is when a supported version of Access (ACE Engine 2007+) uses a MDB data file, does record locking work or is it an ACCDB only thing? I expect the latter but was hoping for better than an educated guess.
