I am running an access 97 db in a multi user environment. A couple of tables require a lot of MEMO fields for the users to enter detailed notes. This seems to have caused errors due to the overall size of the records - there is no supporting help file in Access - can someone please help - is there a limit to the number / type of fields in a record(table)

You can have 255 fields with a total of 1Gb of data per table.

A Memo field can contain up to 1 Gb but you can't manipulate more than 65k using the Access User Interface.

Apart from Memo and OLE fields the record is limited to 2000 characters.

(This is Access 2000)
