Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with the Record Call To VoiceMail feature in Merlin Messaging R4.0? I have the feature programmed as a button on my sets and it works perfectly, except when you begin recording the call, an announcement plays alerting all parties that the call is being recorded. Is anyone aware of a way to turn this announcement off?

Thanks,

Brandon

According to the R4 Supplement,

"The announcement and the beep cannot be changed through system programming and cannot be disabled."

So I think you are out of luck.

I forgot one thing, rather than do it "1 Touch" there is a way to do this, it's just not as easy or as reliable.

With this release of Magix you now have the ability to CONFERENCE on the Voice Mail.

So, you would have to set up a PHANTOM mailbox, and a speed dial button on your phone for it, along with a Direct Voice Mail button as well.

Call would go like this:

Call in progress that you want to record.

Tell call "hold please".

Press Conference.

DVM to your PHANTOM,

Press 1 when it answers

Press conference.

The down side is The system may squawk that "this recording is too short", or some other thing based on how loud or how long the overall conversation is.

That's a very interesting suggestion. It just might be a workaround that could work for me. Thanks merlinman! I will give it a shot.
