I have created a report in access (2000) to work our the costings of our 200 products ...there is one page in the report for each product ie 200 pages .
The report is quite complicated ... it applies wage costs and other overheads ...so I have used sub reports and (too) many textboxes (for lookups and functions ) to get to the bottom line.

I would like to save the bottom line (its a text box txtCostperUnit) of each report (against its product code)
for future use

Can i do this

I think so. you could create a table to hold the values.

And then, on the "on format" event of the report footer, read in the value from the text box and write it to the table.

But report events are a little funny - so I may not be correct about when you can do this. It's what I would try, though.

Format events fire a minimum of twice per print event. If you find you are inserting duplicate records, try moving your code to the print event.

Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root
canal? He wanted to transcend dental medication.

thanks for the clarification, genoman. I thought i remembered something about the report events! :)

Hi,
That is working great thanks. Now i am wondering if I can populate the table without actually printing or manually cycling through the print preview screens ..all 160 times

IE Is there any code that allows one to scroll through the Print Preview screens

The print is launched from a form with the folling code
DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acPreview, , MyCrit

Many thanks again
