Record Already Exist- adding users

I have a problem.

i get an error , Record already exist when adding a user.
but that record is not there.
i cant even add any user in accpac

Your ISM files are messed up. Did you copy users.ism from another folder?

i did not copy the ism files. What can i do to correct this problem

Copy all the ISM files.

OK, then make sure you copy the entire SITE folder, that's where they live.

We are experiencing the same problem at a client (unfortunately they have 200+ users setup), so to recreate them all will be a nightmare.

We narrowed it down to winuser.ism, but running scanism on it breaks it even further.

As a short term solution we realised that if you delete a user you can add a new one, so for every user you want to add you have to delete one. Luckily we had some users that were inactive that we could delete.

If you ever find a better solution (short of recreating everything from scratch) please let me know.
