Reconfiguring a Legend system

We have a Merlin Legend R3 system that is about 8 years old. We are moving from a DID trunk to a series of LS lines. I've been trying to get to the admin port but did not have a 355AF connector. The main console continues to ask for an upgrade/install card and we don't have one.
I got the pinouts on another thread and will be making our own version tomorrow. I have all of the manuals and think we can do this on our own.

Is there anything special I need to know about how to
configure the system to switch it over?
Thanks.

The admin port will tell you the same thing. Are you upgrading the processor module? Using existing trunk ports (on a 408 module for example), installing new trunk modules? Unless you are replacing the processor module, you should not be selecting to upgrade...perhaps a board renumber will be necessary if you add or remove any modules and where you add and remove them from.

Sorry. We are reconfiguring a system with the same modules. We are converting from a DID/T1 configuration to a series of POTs (LS) lines. I've looked at all of the manuals, I believe, and I have not figured it out yet. The We have 400 and 408 modules in the PBX.
Thanks.

If you have LS/GS line ports (on 408 GL/LS MLX cards, or 008 GL/LS cards), put those trunks in pool 70, remove the T1 trunks if they are in pool 70, and check your ARS tables to be sure that they use pool 70 only (and check if you were adding/deleting digits to send calls out over the T1)

TouchToneTommy - We did what you said and added the LS lines to the #70 pool, removed the other lines from the #70 pool. But, I cannot get anybody when I dial out of the PBX or cannot call into the numbers. I also did checked the ARS tables and everything appears ok. What am I missing?

Did you verify in your ars tables, as TT suggested that pool 70 is listed as the first (and now, probably) the only route?

Are you able to recieve calls on the new trunks?

If not, can you pull dialtone on the modular connectors going into the switch?

If not, are you sure these are 'loop-start' and not 'ground-start' lines?

If it turns out that they are ground start, did you provision them accordingly? If yes, it's possible the Tip and Ring are reversed.

Let us know...

Hi Franke. Yep. I verified that the ARS table only had the 70 pool in it. It actually had 70 and 830 but we removed 830 and reset the system. The lines are LS and I can get a dial tone when connecting an analog phone line on them. When I dial a 9 to get out of the PBX, I get a second dial tone but then after dialing the number, the call never completes. Also, calling into the numbers does not route the call to our main number like I would expect it would. Thanks for the help. You guys are great.

Thanks to all. We now have the phone system working with our lines. Our next step is to ge the voice mail system to pick up the lines but that is another issue for another thread. Thanks again.
