Reconciling Inventory balance to GL

I'm having some serious trouble getting inventory to tie to GL. the majority of the problem is that i can't find a report that will tell me the inventory transactions that posted to a given period. The closest thing i can find is the Distribution History report, which only gives posted dates, as in the actual date it was posted, not what period it was posted into. I tried to modify that report to fit my needs, but not only is posting date not an available field, but no tables seem to be related for me to add.

We use the Historical Stock Status report to get an inventory value, and tie that to our GL Accounts. Seems like it would be a no brainer, but there is a breakdown somewhere, and i cannot find it for the life of me.

It's not you, this is a pain in the butt to do and often the reports in GP don't help as much as they should. If this is an ongoing issue and you have a lot of inventory, consider looking at a 3rd party product like The Closer:
