What wireless headset is best for the "T" Series sets? I've used the Plantronics (CA10) system before w/lifter, but it's kind of "klunky". System must be Nortel compatible so as no amplifier is necessary.

Thanks in advance,

Do those have the ability to control the lifter?

I too, vote for the CS50.
Good range and battery life compared to some others I've tried.

I have a GN Netcom unit from Hello Direct. It's very nice and not too clunky. I haven't tried the CS50, but I'll look into it for the future.

I'm just installing one of these today for our telephone order rep. I've got it connected as per the docs (base station into handset jack on T7208, handset into base station) but this seems to mean that in order to pickup a ringing call one must lift the handset out of the cradle, deposit it somewhere and press the 'talk' button on the CS50. Seems like a lot of hassle compared to the operation of our older wired headset, which connected to the headset jack on the T7208 and made use of the headset button on the phone set.

Although the HL10 lifter seems to provide a decent workaround, it's another $100CAD and still doesn't provide as smooth operation as before. Is there a way to allow the handsfree button to be used in place of the handset lift, or can the unit make use of the phone set's headset jack?

Any suggestions for a better setup are appreciated.

Mike,

The 7208 should have a headset jack between the handset and line cord...

I have plugged many Plantronics headsets directly into this port and the phone does not require the lifting of the handset. Just pressing a line button or the Handsfree/Mute button will engage a line. Hit Rls to hang up. No need to use the amplifier box. I have a collection of the headset boxes around that I just used the headsets themselves from.

If you want to use the phone normally, you usually just disconnect the headset. The ones I tend to get have the "quick disconnect" plug in the middle of the wire and it works great!

Wow do I feel dumb.

I even tried this (plugging base station into headset jack on T7208) first and got nowhere. It was only after reading your post that I thought to try again, and sure enough it works fine as long as the headset is charged & in 'talk' mode before the user presses the T7208 'headset' button.

Thanks.
