Hi there,

We are trying to decide which editions for CE and CR to buy for out organization. Crystal Reports will MAINLY be used for creating reports to be published under Crystal Enterprise (Ver 9.0) I have read that the CE would work with CR professional edition and above. Would anybody recommend something better that the professional edition?

What extremaly usefull features would we be losing?

Thanks
JV

The Crystal site talks about the various options but if you need to Broadcast/email reports to more than 50 user(I think that the limit) then have a close look at the Advance edition.
I use the Pro edition but the EULA has limitations on broadcating. Check with your rep if your unsure.

If you are using Crystal Enterprise to deliver your reports, you will not need anything above the Professional edition.

Don't confuse the Crystal Reports CBL (Crystal Broadcast License) with the Crystal Enterprise RDL (Report Distribution License).

The CBL (included in CR9 Advanced) won't do you any good unless you build your own scheduler, exclusive of Crystal Enterprise.

If you use Crystal Enterprise, you may or may not need the RDL depending on your usage and distribution requirements.

Generally speaking, I agree with GPOGA. You probably don't need anything above the Professional Edition.

Following is a link to the Crystal Reports Editions (sorry, I gave you Crystal Enterprise above):
