I'm looking for a new tone/probe set and wonder if there is anything new out there that works better on cat5/cat6 cable. Any ideas will be helpfull. Thanks.

I recently Purchased Fluke Networks T100 ,I have been disappointed with it, It Eats 9V Batteries. It works good for identifying cables ,before termination. But my old progressive works better on terminated cables,Right after I purchased it Fluke notified me The Probe was defective and sent me The T200 Probe,at no additional cost ,I really can't tell much difference .Ihave better luck using tone on cat 5 by splitting the extra pairs ie (white Blue -White brown ) when toning cat5.Just My 2 Cents.

Fluke makes a microscanner pro that is a good product. It sends a tone on all 4 pairs, making it easy to find your cable. It has wiremap, and lenght as well. Here is the link if you would like to check it out. I have 3 of these and haven't had any troubles out of these yet.

I am looking for a new tool as well. I have the Microscanner as well, good strong tone. But...the new Fluke Intellitoner sparks my interest. It does not use an analog tone won't get lost in large bundles and you can find it through a wall and on cables in a switch it also wiremaps. under $200 Any reviews guys?

Why is there never a phone in the phone closet?

The best I have found so far is a Microscanner Pro set to tone and a Progressive (now Tempo) 200FP for the probe. Very powerfull, I have done close to a mile.

I have been interested in the latest from Fluke Networks but it appears that 3rc has had less than desirable results.

The Microscanner Pro is one of the most used items in my toolbox. wiremap, wire lenght (TDR!), hub flash, line speed, ID kit, and LOUD toner. That is a lot in a small package.
