Hi,

Can anyone help me out with this one. We are trialling call manager internally. We have an isdn30 connection, although i need a gateway to connect the isdn30 to the callmanager. I have been told that a Cisco 1721 router with a VWIC-1MFT-E1 card will work? Can anyone tell me whether this is correct??

Or would anyone be able to recommend the cheapest method of connecting the isdn30 line into the callmanager?

Thanks!
James.

This won't work as the 1721 has no support for Voice DSP's. The minimum router would be a 1751V, although by default this only has a 4-channel DSP installed by (4 simultaneous calls). The PDVM Module (DSP module) can be replaced for a maximum of a 20-channel module. You would also need the VWIC-2MFT-E1 module to physically interface to the ISDN30.
Alternatively a 1760V or a 2600/2800/3600/3700/3800 with a NM-HDV and a VWIC.

I would suggest getting the NM-HDV-1E1-30 or NM-HDV-1E1-30E module to be used in a 2600/2800/3600/3800. This has the on-board 30-channel DSP resources by default.
