Recommendation needed for Java book with a real example

Hello All:

Can anyone recommend a book that takes a relative Java newbie through an actual implementation?

Hopefully the book will cover Tomcat, Apache, Java, DB design, XML-RPC.

Why not do the tutorials on

http://www.java.sun.com

? The Web Services tutorial and J2EE tutorial will pretty much cover what you are after, plus they are in PDF or HTML, so you can download and print out if needs be.

If you must pay money (!) -

Go to oreilly.com - they pretty much write the best books out there. They also have books on pretty much every subject !
