Hi:

I am planning to purchase a Notebook that will run solely on Linux. I am very new at Linux - presently I have Red Hat 7 running on a dual-boot basis with Win XP.

I would like to take the next step and launch deeply into Linux.

Would any posters have tips for a not-expensive notebook that supports Linux well - hopefull the soundcard etc will be recognized immediately.

Thanks.

I'll second graver's response. I've had my Inspiron 8000 for some time now and never had a problem loading Linux on it.
