We are having bad experiences with our current ISP and wish to change but having been stung by poor service a number of times we need to change to a reliable provider who can meet all our requirements.
The main reason for the change is that we need to run ASP with ODBC access to Visual FoxPro tables. This meant moving from a Unix server to a Windows server. Out current ISP said that that would not be a problem and everything would be compatible. When we switched, however, he first found that he could not get out Perl script bulletin board system that was working fine on the Unix server, working on the Windows server and secondly he then told us that he only support ODBC access to the more widely used Microsoft Access and not Microsoft Visual FoxPro even though the ODBC drivers are supplier together in Visual Studio.
We don't want to sign up with a new ISP where the salesman tells us again that everything will be fine but the technical people are unable to support it and just waste out time. We need to be assured that we are not asking anything that is impossible and that it can all be delivered promptly. Can anybody recommend a good ISP based on good experience that could help us. I have listed the key requirements below
25-50Mb web space
ASP
ADO
ODBC (including Microsoft Visual FoxPro drivers)
Perl/CGI Scripts
ADSL and dial up flat rate email
Prefer Manchester area ISP although any UK ISP considered
