My employer is considering implementing music on hold at one of my five sites. The 11C at that location does have an NT8D14BB rls05 trunk card & is running 3.0+, so I'm pretty certain that I have the necessary switch hardware. Before I call my vendor, I'd like to get some input if possible regarding what kind of recorders out there work best with my switch & which ones to avoid.

I've been using a "Pontis SP503" MP3 player on 10 ssytems & had 0 problems. Has the advantage of auto power on after a mains outage & goes into continual play. The inetrface for loading is through a Comm port, so that's a bit clunky.

Absolutely anything with a "line out" output will work fine. You don't need to go big budget on this, after all you are listening to it on a telephone. I have seen everything from cheap wal-mart fm radios to expensive DAR's and everything in between...just remember to turn music on for all the routes in the RDB. You can use a high output but then you will need a line matching transformer.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm certain that there ARE a lot of products out there - I guess what I'm looking for is something that is physically sound, dependable & easy for the end users to program/re-program. Let me know what you guys use & what you would never use. Thanx a bunch!

We use a low priced portable CD player from Radio Shack. It plugs into AC power (using supplied adapter) and sits on a shelf in the phone room. It's been in operation 24/7 for 3 years now. (Note: Make sure what you get has a continous play selection and we purchased several royalty free cd's over the internet)

Okay - so I've narrowed it down to either the OHP-6000 or the OHP-5000 by On-Hold. If anyone has either of these installed I'd like to know if you like or hate it. Thanks to everyone!
