What is the recommended farm size for a farm based on Access in terms of concurrent users etc?? B-)

I think that is a Test Question off of Boson.com... I think the answer is that it is recommended that when MS Access is used for the Data Store, the max number of NAMED users for the farm is 3,000.

Hope this helps!

I'd like to see a farm that supports 3,000 users with an Access DB!

In reality, you're looking at about 12 servers /1,000 users before you notice a performance hit on the Data Collector. You could probably nudge this up with more powerful machines, however (I did my tests on dual 1Ghz servers with 2Gb RAM).

However, I'd also like to see users that only use 16Mb RAM.

Thanks for the replies.

We are planning on moving to either an Oracle or an SQL database in the near future. Are there any benefits in going with either of the two???

Brian B-)

I've used both, with only minor difficulties using Oracle as the Summary Database.

Not much to choose between them - except for the cost; you're better off sticking with something you

a) Know

and

b) Have already

...I find the MS SQL Server management tool easier to use than the Oracle equivalent.

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
