Hello!
I need some recommendations for DNS settings in my infrastructure:
We have 2 sites: Site1 and Site2
• In each of them, we have different Domain (MS Windows 2000 DCs)
I need to configure DNS server, so, I can from Site1 resolve names from Site2 & from Site2 resolve the Site1 names (by DNS)
• Each Site connected independently to Internet by different ISP.
• In each site 2 Domain Controllers (and DNS servers)
I have:
In each of DNS server, I configure to use DNS Forwarding to 3 DNS servers: Two DNS servers from other site and ISP's DNS Server.
In addition, I have V on: "Do not use recursion for this domain" in each DNS server…

I don’t like that configuration , it Create very High DNS traffic in LAN, WAN and Internet
Any Recommendations?

Thank You in Advance,

Yigal

Create a site to site VPN tunnel, take your ISP DNS servers and put them into your DNS Forwaders. At each site then set the DNS servers to yours. IE...Site A 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.2 Site B 10.10.10.2 and 10.10.10.1. By doing this you should be able to see all on network.
