Recipient Policies Exchange 2000 Filter by Group membership

Been experimenting with Recipient Polies on Exchange 2000 and have successfully applied Mailbox Management Policies when I filter by User options such as "logon name" or "Description"
The one I really need though is to filter by "Group Membership" as I want to cleanup the mailboxes of users with different settings dependant on which groups they are a member of. If I add a group to a filter query it fails to find the Exchange recipents within that group.
Must be doing something basic wrong but dont know what it is.
Appreciate any troubleshooting tips.
