I have a MICS w/ 6.1 software. 2 power outages. On the first power outage I had to recreate the route as well as give users access to the PRI-a pool. once I did that, I could call out but could not receive calls in. All the target lines where built and assigned properly. After working with carrier to verify that they were good, I moved the card from the first slot to the second and redid the programming to accommodate the move and all was fine. Now after the second outage I basically did as the first time with the routing and pool access and again I could call out but again can not get calls to come in . Anyone seen this and what are my options. Bad VRAM?. I believe the surges are causing this.

try posting in nortel norstar systems

6 months until ski season starts...sadly i must resign myself to the warmer weather"this will include a normal 8-5 work day, 5 days a week"

A) Invest in some power protection ) You can't cover everything, but I like to cover myself for at least an hour if I can.

B) just off the cuff... Make sure that the number of digits you are set up to expect on your trunk is what the phone company is sending you - the default setting when you create the new group might be different.

Also check the protocol your trunks are communicating at - although I would assume if that is wrong your wouldn't send out either - unless you have some copper trunks backing up the PRI and the calls are rolling over to that and you just think they are going out the PRI....

Does your PBX provide and ISDN trace utility that you can set up to monitor the trunk ports and see what is happening when the calls are coming in? You might be able to see the call signalling, and the sieze, but then some protocol mismatch or something that is causing an error.

These are just some general things I would check - I don't know your specific hardware.

Thanks for the response although all was configured properly. It was as I thought . The system got corrupted. I replaced it , got new codes for the PRI and back in buisiness. I did, with impotance to the customer advise that they get a surge protector and or a UPS. Thanks again
