I am trying to set up a 4 digit received digit for PRI. The received digit starts with a 9 and will not let me input it. Is this because of using 9 for external access. Is there a way around this issue other than changing to 7 digits. If i change from 4 digits to 7 digits i am pretty sure it erases all of my target line programming.

You could use IDC, but why not just get a new DID range starting with something else.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

That is the reason. You could either 1. Change the PRI routing to use a different digit or 2. have the LEC send 3 digits and just remove the first digit in all your target lines or 3. have the LEC send 3 digits and do a cold start on the system and use 3 digit extensions and use a DID template.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Sorry about the IDC, I was thing this was the PBX forum. just change the DID range fcrom the Telco.

Hey Guys
I just expanded the routing table's destination digits. I expanded 9 not to include 95

Have the telco send 7 or 10 digits instead of 4. You will loose target line programming only if you decrease the received lenght number never when you select a higher number of digits.

As long as nothing in your dialing plan starts with 5 that should work. But I wouldmake sure if any DID's are added in the future they startwith somthing besides 9. Good Luck.

Another option is to have the LEC change the digits they are sending. Instead of 9xxx, have them send 5xxx instead. They can make this change easy enough.

By removing the 95 from your destination codes, means you will not be able to dial any prefix that starts with a 5 (ie: 5xx-xxxx)..

Just my two and half cents..
