I am hoping that someone here will have an answer for my issue. It is driving me nuts
I have a customer that has an Epson TM-U220. The printer is connected to a system with Windows XP Professional SP 3. The printer will print two print jobs (Test Pages in this case) then become "Unavailable". Restarting the computer does not make the printer available again. However unplugging the USB cable and plugging the cable in again does make the printer "Ready" again.
The printer has worked before. With no issues. Their is also an Epson TM-T88IV connected to the same system that prints with no problems. The TM-U220 is connect to the computer using USB over Ethernet if that would make any difference.
I just performed a clean install of XP Pro. The only software installed is AVG Antivirus, Java, Flash, Firefox and the POS software they use.
I have uninstalled the software from with in add and remove programs and running the set program again and choosing uninstall and rebooting then reinstalling. I have deleted the printers, ports and drivers and rebooted. I have tried different printers of the same model. I have tried different usb over Ethernet adapters. I have not tried a different Ethernet cable because of the length (Pretty long). I have however tested the cable using an Ethernet tester.
Has anybody ever used a printer server on these printers? What brand and model number if so?
Thank You for any assistance
