Hello everyone
I have an issue w/Lotus Notes 4.6.7 in regards to recertifying Server ID files. Info and issue are listed below. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
BACKGROUND INFO:
* Running Lotus Notes 4.6.7 on Windows 2000 Server
* My Notes administration knowledge is minimal
* Our server.id is going to expire tomorrow. Our attempts here to receritfy the ID in anticipation are not working.
PROBLEM:
I had recertified an offline copy of our server.ID file last night and was going to replace it on the server and restart the Notes service. I came in this morning to find our server was not functional. The error all our clients received was:
"Server Error: The public key that is being used does not match the one that was certified. Check the server’s log file for details."
I made a backup copy of the existing server.id, and put the recertified version on the Notes server. Upon restart of the Lotus Notes service, we get the error:
"Server Error: The server’s ID file has been corrupted, or is not an ID file."
I've searched on and came across Tech Note #108479 "How To Recertify Server ID Files". In reviewing, I noticed I missed a step where I was to copy the public key from the recertified ID file and replace the public key for the server's entry in the NAMES.NSF. I recertified the ID, updated server's entry in the NAMES.NSF with the new public key, copied this recertified ID to the Notes server and stopped/restarted the service. I am still getting the error:
"Server Error: The server’s ID file has been corrupted, or is not an ID file."
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Or if there are any steps I am overlooking? Any assistance/feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerry
