Recently I have bought a brand new PC for use on a network with a 20GB HD, the PC came with no OS, so i used an NT 1-2 processor disk, when I came to the hard drive size it was only showing 8GB, which i then created a C drive partion of 4GB with NTFS and loaded NT on it.

That means that there is only 4GB left for a D drive. Where has the remaining 12GB disappeared to? and how can I get it back so I can add it to the D drive?

Ive had this problem before but i cant remember how i got around it. I think i used DOS?

You will need to create a boot floppy. Then boot using the floppy and run 'fdisk' to create additional partitions in the unalocated space.

Thanks
Using a 98 boot disk and fdisk & format. i managed to format the 12GB then using NT created 2 NTFS partions at 4GB & 16GB.
