I just heard that the sizeable ecommerce site urbanfetch.com went out of business. With pseudo.com having gone down recently also, I am wondering what these events might forecast. As a developer I don't have much of a "high-level" view on the internet and ecommerce as business practices.

However, I would love to hear any opinions or comments from anyone about this topic. Is there a general negative trend or is this my imagination? Is there perhaps a shift in direction taking place in the internet? If so to where? It is a consolidation of the industry. It happens to all hot industries. So many companies come out to compete it is inevitable that some companies will survive and some won't. B2C companies have been the first to consolidate. B2B companies will be consolidating in the near future. They will either go out of business or someone will buy them. It is the law of supply and demand. There is too much demand out there so prices either have to go down or companies have to scale back. With all positive trends have to come a negative one sooner or later
