Recent/Current Raging Datawarehouse arguments and conflicts

I am trying to 'dive in the deep end' at the moment by learning s specific area of data warehousing and evaluating any arguments, critisisms or conflicts associated with it. The trouble is, I am not sure what arguments are raging at the moment.

What would be extremely helpful to me is if anyone could point me in the right direction by identifying current issues in data warehousing, (that are preferably backed up by numerous white papers arguing the two or more cases and have not been raging for more than about 5 years!!!)

I would be extremely grateful for any information on such subjects.
