Receiving Runtime error in ePortfolio

I am running Crystal Enterprise 8. I have created a couple of reports that get data from an Access database. In the Access db, I've created a query that grabs data from multiple SQL Servers as well as an additional table that I have created.

When I publish one specific report to ePortfolio, I receive a Runtime error when navigating out to its location (this only happens with 1 report). The error appears when I go to the exact page where the report is listed. This is the error I'm receiving:

"A Runtime error has occurred.
Do you want to Debug?"

Line: 278
Error: Expected ')'

This error appears twice in a row, with the line always incrementing by 2 (its not always line 278). Clicking OK or Cancel does not change anything.

I am still able to access the report and run/view it. This error is an annoyance and I would like to figure out why this is happening.

I need a point in the right direction...not sure if I need to look at report design, MS Access query, or ePortfolio.

Any assistance is apreciated!

If:

"The error appears when I go to the exact page where the report is listed."

means that it occurs when you go into ePortfolio to view a list of reports then it is probably an ePortfolio error.

Have you customized ePortfolio?

Try placing the report in another folder, perhaps it has something to do with that one folder, perhaps even the name of the folder or report is causing a problem.

thank you for your response but i have discovered the mistake...

i modified the report description and it resolved the error. the description had some single quotes in it which were causing problems...i guess.

problem resolved!

Ahhhh, interesting, having single quotes in the description caused ePortfolio to fail in CE 8, I just tested it in CE 8.5 without a problem.
